The last 19 months have been a difficult time for all the care homes that we work with due to the coronavirus pandemic – Kingfisher Lodge in Saltford was no different. For the three years up to March 2019, residents from Kingfisher Lodge had been regular visitors to our Music for the Mind sessions and like everyone else they got a lot of pleasure from them. Lockdown was very difficult for them with no visitors allowed for many months and very little mixing within the home.
The Keynsham and Saltford Dementia Action Alliance wanted to try and support the residents and the team who run the activities within the home. The charity agreed to support them in the form of a donation which they decided to spend on a new modern television, that can provide wonderful entertainment for the residents. Allowing them to sing along to some of their favourite tunes.
